Excellent choice
I own a HP 8710w Mobile Workstation (RL922AV) since 2008, equipped with 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) DDR2 667 MHx RAM and I had to double my RAM when I started running Microsoft SharePoint on my PC because of my job. MacBook Pro 2.4ghz SantaRose
This product works well for expanding your memory to up to 6gb in the Mac book Pro 3,1. I think it is best to put the DIMM in bank 0 ( the one underneath ) and then leave the other slot to hold the 2gb. Runs very nicely in OS X Lion and gives a new lease of life to an older laptop.
