Compatible with the Sony P and HP Mini 1000 and other models. If you are successfully using this SSD in another netbook please let us know so we can update the list.

RunCore Solid State Drives feature high speed read and write speeds, and offers superior Data Security, Longevity, Performance, Reliability and Power Savings to conventional HDDs.

Performance The Zif SSD can operate at high sustained read/write transfer rates of up to 80/45MB/sec while a conventional 1.8" HD operates at around 30/20MB/sec. Power consumption is kept to a minimum. SSD can be powered from a single 3.3 volt source. The solid state design eliminates electromechanical noise and delay inherent in traditional magnetic rotating media. The wear-leveling and bad-block mapping algorithms ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of user data.

Endurance The useful life of flash media is limited by the number of write/erase operations that can be performed on the media. To extend the useful life of Rapid-Destruction SSD, special wear-leveling and bad-block mapping algorithms are integrated in the firmware.

Wear-Leveling Algorithm The dynamic wear-leveling algorithm integrated in the firmware guarantees that erase/write cycles are evenly distributed across all of the flash memory block locations. Wear-leveling eliminates repeated writes to the same physical flash memory location, thereby preventing blocks from premature wear.

Bad-Block Management The bad-block mapping algorithm replaces bad-blocks with new ones from available spares. Two percent (2%) of the flash memory is held in reserve (spare blocks) for bad block replacement. Bad blocks in the media are flagged when detected. The next time an attempt is made to access a flagged block, it is immediately replaced by a spare block. The bad-block mapping function enables data to be automatically transferred from a bad sector to an available spare block.

Data Retention Data stored on RunCore SSD remains valid for 10 years without requiring power support. The unit can be stored under certain environmental conditions for extended periods without any occurrence of data degradation.

RunCore SSD also features an onboard Slave Micro USB Port and Master capabilities!
Micro USB Slave: This feature allows owners to use their mini PCI-E SSD as a USB Drive. You can now preload your RunCore drive with your current HDD via any cloning or ghosting program. We highly recommend the free trial of Acronis True Image Software as this will save you a considerable amount of time and trouble instead of installing a new OS and all the applicable drivers.

Does not work on Fujitsu Lifebook U820

Purchased this disk to use with my Fujitsu Lifebook. The connection is - however - opposite from normal harddrives and with the special connection cable of the Lifebook, it would not fit. This is unfortunate, because it is a superfast drive.

works for vaio tz

I installed the drive to replace the 128GB drive that came with my sony vaio tz340.

It's a little tricky to install. The cable contacts need to face the drive unit, so I had to put the drive in upside down. The zif connection is not quite centered, so turning it over moves the the connection a few millimeters to the side. The clearance is tight and if the cable were any shorter it wouldn't work. But I got it in, and it seems ok.

The drive seems to have about 8GB more storage than the drive it replaced, in spite of the nominally identical size.
