Very simple to install. I copied to it the OS install disk -Win XP home- from my desk computer thanks to this drive's USB additional connection, then installed the OS from the disk itself. No problems at all.
Very surprised by its efficiency when compared to the previous -original- 8 Gb disk.

Brilliant. Trial software suggested worked a treat. Plug it in to the USB socket, image your existing drive, swap the two and then carry on as if nothing had happened, except that you now have a bigger hard drive.

i bought this for a dell inspiron 910 which originally had an 8gb drive go faulty and dell's forums confirmed a problem. i did not want to replace with OEM so i tried this.

i had to reinstall for the original disks but it was a breeze. quite quick and the performance after install is very good. so this has doubled the storage and given more performance, too early to talk about reliability but it fully passes all dell diagnostic checks.

so in summary this is 100 ompatible with the dell, and highly recommended.

Easy installation & good system boost

Got my dell mini 9 from Vodafone, so had the STEC 8GB and 1gb ram.

I Upped the RAM to 2gb which made a big difference (I run Win7 RC)

I then got the Runcore 16gb drive, which not only doubled my storage which is essential, but also made the loading times for all software much quicker!

Installing the drive takes about 10mins, with the included screwdriver, and worked first time.

Loaded Win7 RC with a USB key in under an hour and the difference is notable.

16 GB Runcore SSD in Dell Vostro A90 (aka Mini 9)

First of all, delivery time was incredible fast, I ordered on a Wednesday evening and received the SSD on the upcoming Saturday. Price was definitely lower than here in Germany (only one retailer is selling Runcore here).
The expected speed is significantly higher than the original SSD built in. It's of course not 6 times faster, I didn't benchmark it, I would just say the "felt" system performance is twice as fast, what is what I really expected and I'm very satisfied with that. Great product from a great retailer !

This product transforms the Dell Mini 9. The standard STEC SSD feels very sluggish, whereas the Runcore SSD feels many times faster, giving the Mini 9 a much needed speed boost, making it a much more capable machine. Even if your Mini 9 has 16GB STEC already, this would be an upgrade still worth thinking about - its that good.
