This is a plug and play upgrade no need to reinstall your OS because the 4GB module in the system houses all of the OS and other programs. Be sure to put any files that you do not want to loose onto another computer then once you have completed the upgrade move them back to the system. Once the upgrade is complete you will end up with a 68GB drive.

How to add 64GB SSD PCI Express PCI-e SSD on ASUS EEE PC901
This is an excellent way to increase the hard disk capacity of the Asus Pc901. The memory is really easy to exchange (2 screws to remove).
1)back-up all your files stored on the D disk on USB key for ex.
2) Run into the setup to set the parameter "boot speed" to disable
3)Boot XP and get in the "Control Panel", run the "Administrative Tools", start "Computer Management" and "Disk Management". You will see the new 64GB disk but not activated ! right click at the beginning of the row and push on "activate". Now you have to create a new partition primary or extended (NTFS or FAT32). Finally you must format the partition and define a "letter" for it. Reboot XP, look into "My Computer" if you 64GB memory is now there. Reload the files stored on your USB key.
Do not forget to change the boot speed parameter to "Enable" in the setup and that's it !

64GB SSD PCI Express PCI-e SSD for ASUS EEE PC
The 64 SSD works perfect and is an excellent add compare to the existing 12gb SSD. If a SSD HC would come out pretty soon, then it might be much faster. No problems with installation. After installation you have to install windows from scratch with recovery CD. Before windows installation and right after new SSD is installed you have to run first bios setup for setting the new SSD properly. But after windows installation you you can clone the new SSD with the previous SSD, e.g. with Acronis. Don't forget to clone the previous 12 GB SSD and then it is really easy to have your old system exactly running on the new 64 SSD. You can clone to the SD card, e.g. 16GB, which remains in the PC slot. No conflicts with bios and windows and other programs. It is perfect for me. Now you can put a bunch of more programs on the Eee PC. I am looking for the new SSD HC which will come out hopefully early next year, because that will boost the speed of this little Eee PC.
