Good comms here |
I bought this to support dial up access over a mobile phone. Using the windows bluetooth drivers she worked well just so long as we have everything in place at boot-up time. As long as the phone has an active connection with the computer we can dial out at will. If the bluetooth link is interrupted its a reboot to get things going again.
This is the second bluetooth dongle I've tried this with. The first one would pair with the phone but couldn't connect the phone to the application software when required. The option 'standard modem over bluetooth' just would not appear.
I would agree with others that with XP (SP2) it is best to try these things with the standard drivers and leave the software CD in the box! Reviewed by Anonymous on April 5th 2008, 08:42 PM |

Hardware good, software bad (at least on XP) |
The dongle works well but works best with the default drivers that Win XP loaded for it. I installed the software from the CD, but it was awful - it didn't allow the device to work and created a large CPU load. If you want bluetooth on your computer buy this dongle but throw away the CD!
I bought it to put MP3's on my mobile. €50 for a Nokia USB lead or >€15 for this. Easy decision. Reviewed by Anonymous on October 26th 2006, 09:48 AM |
