Details
In RunCore's pursuit of the ultimate solid state drive (SSD) upgrade, a full new line of SSD products have been developed, boosting computer performance 5x to 40x. The RunCore Pro IV SSDs provide speed increases in startup, application launch, multitasking between programs, opening/rendering/saving large files, and shutdown. The RunCore PRO IV SSD also offers silent operation, longer battery life, heat reduction, reliability, and durability making it the perfect solution for all applications.

The revolutionary new SSD design not only boosts your sustained performance but it also focuses on random small file Read and Write speeds, the speeds that create bottle necks in current and past PATA, SATA HDDs, and some SSDs. With Operating system and application consisting of thousands of small files, the RunCore Pro IV SSD can process these files at nearly 10X write and 50X read while creating a more efficient and satisfying user experience.

RunCore Pro IV 1.8" ZIF SSD is designed for laptop, handheld PC. The product adopts advanced flash controller and NAND flash, contains the cache size of up to 64MB with a higher performance in read/write rate than mechanism hard drive. Furthermore, its characteristics of low power consumption and anti-vibration are obvious.

1.8" ZIF SSD as standard PATA driver, which supports all major operating systems such as Windows 9X/Me/NT/XP/CE/Vista/Windows7, MAC, Linux and Unix, Solaris, Vxworks. With no moving parts and seek time, 1.8" ZIF SSD does not need to spin up into action or to seek files in the way that traditional hard disk drives do - enabling it to work much faster. It supports capacity from 32GB to 128GB with maximum transfer rate as high as 85MB/s. Therefore, it is an ideal storage device for commercial users' mobile PC.

Great Upgrade

Had the (stock) 64GB SSD in my Mac Air, and needed more room (as the computer is still working great). Ordered this RunCore 128GB, plopped it in the (supplied) case, backed up the old drive to this one (needed to download Carbon Copy Cloner), then swapped drives. Removing the old drive and installing this one is a little fiddly, but not too bad. Likely had the swap done in under an hour.
So far, the new drive has been great (and I had a spare 64GB SSD in the case)!

I installed this Runcore 128GB drive into my MAcbook Air rev A (1.1) without a hitch using the iFixit website tutorial as a guide. The drive is very fast - it does hang sometimes when I wake the Air from sleep and immediately plug in my USB 2 3g Modem, which requires a forced shutdown and restart but that's not often - maybe once a month. (however it's speed more than compensates for this inconvenience so I still give it 5 stars)

I love the almost instant launch of apps and how crisp and snappy my Macbook Air feels now :-) A very worthwhile upgrade/replace option.

Quick delivery. Easily installed. There is a huge difference in performance (and reliability) between the original HD and this SSD. Highly recommended!

replaced the very slow existing 4200rpm hard disk with this baby, I reckon the machine performs around 2-3 times faster now with this SSD for anything that touches the hard disk, file sync/offline operations and app installs in general are much faster, ~25 second startup (and ready to use!) and ~7 second shutdown with Windows 7, nice.

Although it showed in stock when I ordered, the product was out of stock! Communication with MemoryC was good and the estimated time they gave was spot on, with the offer to cancel without charge if I found one elsewhere, which I didn't. Item arrived with next day delivery and was pretty straight forward to install using the iFixIt instructions (which I would recommend you reviewed before opening anything!) Difference in performance is well worth the price and pretty much the only upgrade possible on the MBA. Will keep me going for at least another year when hopefully the MBP 13" has a i7 processor :-)

Bought this for my ageing Vaio TZ. Comes with a USB casing for your old drive to put into and use after upgrading. The ZIF connection is a easy to use once you reaf the manual and two connection leads are supplied. Performance of this drive is very good, its like haveing a new laptop. Programs are nuch faster and CPU load is a lot lower. Its amazing how silent my laptop is now. Boot times and shutdown times are amazing.

One critisum is the external USB case supplied. The USB port does not line up with the hole in the casing, and it failed after 24hrs. In summary, drive brillant, USB casing poor. Service as usual next day and prompt.

Super-Fast Drive for Macbook Air.

AS my Macbook Air rev A. was out of warranty, I decided to go from the 80GB HDD to this 128GB SDD.
I followed the instructions & free software included to clone my "Air" - this took 3 hours to move 60GB out of the slow MAC USB port, then using the info below, replaced the drive - only 30 mins. of careful work.

[link removed]

Put it all together again (15 mins) & my "Air" is 2x faster now !
Excellent.
It is worth noting the the "ZIF" is not exactly "Zero Insertion Force" - a fair bit of care & attention should be taken to carefully locate, insert & lock the ZIF connector in place, otherwise you may damage the cable & that would be a disaster.

Overall, worth every penny.
