The only problem I had with the install was the bundled cloning software! it did not work, so I downloaded Macrium Reflect a free cloning software, I installed the ssd booted the ultrabook and was up and running in just 30 seconds! what a difference, gone from 90 seconds to 30 seconds to the desktop. To reduce wear of the SSD I have reduced the page file size to 200MB minimum and maximum to reduce read write wear, I have disabled defrag as this would destroy the ssd, go to “Turn off schedule”. I also turned off hibernation to save space! I have also Disabled SuperFetch, Prefetch, ReadyBoost, and ReadyDrive these technologies were designed to address performance bottlenecks that mechanical PATA drive have, but are not necessary on SSD. The Drives 4K QD32 which is the most important has gone from 0.338 read and 0.486 write to 15.19 read and 11.78 write. By the way I used crystal disk mark 3.0.2 to benchmark the drive.

Works well with Latitude D430 using Windows 7 with TRIM support. Speed is a lot faster now than before with the 1.8" 4,200 RPM HDD.
Below is the CrystalDiskMark result.

Sequential Read : 85.696 MB/s
Sequential Write : 37.728 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 82.538 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 37.005 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 21.341 MB/s [ 5210.2 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 6.681 MB/s [ 1631.0 IOPS]

Random 4K read is 21.3 MB/s! The read speed matched the advertised speed. The write speed could have been held back by the laptop limitation or something else that I don't know. Even so, the laptop is very fast now. Remember that this is a Pata controller and not the newer SATA 1,2 or 3. Also, the price is fair.

the drive i recieved was a newer version of the same model but with different packaging. My boot time went from 1min 51 secs down to 51 seconds, super fast drive.

Not kompability to Acer Aspire One ZG

Installed it in my Acer Aspire One A110 and it wasn't recognized, tried all ZIF cables that were included the original from the Samsung SSD. No luck.

Somehow the RunCore firmware isn't 100% PATA compatible.
Hope this review helps people avoiding the mistake I've made with this purchase.

I bought this Runcore 32 gb ssd to replace the 16gb one in my HP Mini 1000. I'm very pleased with it. My Mini's performance is much improved, and it's back to being my travel buddy. I was about to sell it on Craigslist before I decided to upgrade. I did have to pull out a USB port to install it, but that was exclusively for an HP flash drive I seldom used so it really hasn't been an issue.

Brings old notebook to life

I have an old LG T1 notebook which suits my needs but the harddrive had started to fail so I decided to give the SSD's a try. I was looking a the lower end, so it was either this Runcore or a Kingspec. I beleive the speed justifies the small increase in price.

Well, the drive was much harder to install on my LG T1 than I thought. Finnaly managed to do it and can only say wow!! My old notebook is like a Vaio on steroids!

I did a clean install, so I didnt try out the clone-stuff, figured I need a fresh install anyway. The supplied USB-case is handy though, since now I can use my old harddrive as a portable USB-drive. Otherwise it would probably just have gone to waste.

Overall, great product. Shipping to Sweden was also very fast!

Very tiny and the quality it's very good. Perfectly installed on my ACER ASPIRE ONE ZG5.
The speed it's fast enough to run Windows 7 (with 1.5GB DDR2) but it's less than I have expected because of it's price.
The system load in a minute and it have a constant writting speed of 34MB/s (tested with W7 and a MKV of 6GB).
The battery lifetime it's more or less the same with the Toshiba 1.8" 60GB (55 minutes with the Toshiba and 1:15 with the SSD with normal use of wifi and low bright).

Experience with RunCore Pro IV ZIF 32Gb

Swapping the 60Gb 4200rpm 1.8" Toshiba hdd for the 32Gb RunCore Pro IV in my Dell D430 is a huge improvement in terms of speed and responsiveness.
Speeds are ok with 75 for read and 55 for write in HDTune Pro.
I'll update the review once I have more experience with the drive.

The additional zif case is a nice bonus, as I now use the original hdd as external drive.

Plug'n'Play compatibility with Dell D420. Installed Windows 7 Ultimate off USB flash - took like 15 minutes. System became far more responsive and great to use. Great upgrade for old laptops.
