DDR3 RAM memory is an older type of computer memory for desktop computers. Adding any of these DDR3 memory modules to a desktop system will instantly boost the performance. Remember that the different types of DDR RAM cannot be mixed; DDR3 RAM sticks can only be added to systems and motherboards that are designed for DDR3. This memory type is available in various speeds, depending on which system they are intended for - the \"mainstream\" speeds are typically 1600MHz and 2400Mhz, but other speeds are available for systems that require different speeds.
