The SuperTalent SATA Mini 2 PCIe SSD is an upgrade module specifically designed to be a drop in replacement for the ASUS Eee PC S101,900, 900A, and 901 netbook PCs. The modules are simple and easy to install for immediate capacity and performance benefits.

These modules are the fastest SATA Mini PCIe SSDs available in the market today. Delivering over 5x the performance of the original Eee PC SSDs. These products also make excellent high performance small form factor products for embedded system designers.

The 64GB MLC based product features sequential read speeds up to 150 MB/s and sequential write speeds up to 100 MB/s. The MLC drives come with Super Talent’s 2 year warranty.

Important note about BIOS versions

In order for this product to work, the following BIOS versions (or later) must be installed on the ASUS EEE netbook:

Replaced a Runcore 64GB SSD in my Eee901

I've had an after-market Runcore SSD in my Eee 901 (which is, incidentally running Crunchbang Linux) for, oh i don't know, perhaps a couple of years. I started getting ATA errors with the Runcore SSD, so I replaced it with this one. Its been running well for a week, and I'm happy with it.

The Runcore had a handy USB port on it, so I was able to swap the SSDs, boot Linux from a USB stick and use dd to copy the two partitions on the USB attached Runcore SSD to the new SuperTalent one, which then booted without issue. Its a shame that the SuperTalent SSD doesn't also have a USB port, otherwise I'd have given it 5 stars.

Already had latest BIOS. Easy to fit once you have located a very small screwdriver for the two holding screws. Loaded Windows7 32bit and now runs like any other laptop. About 65sec to fully boot. An excellent upgrade for the 901. The only downside is the price.

Excellent buy. Put my eeepc 901 withe the most recent bios and recognized the new hardware.
Now i have the 901 with windows 7 ultimate OS and works great.
It´s 10x faster when compared to OEM eeepc 901 original sdd.
Recommend :)

I replaced the original 16 GB SSD of my ASUS S101 by the 64GB SSD (it's not so easy, you have to dismantle the whole laptop). Compatibility = 100% speed: great improvement.

Firstly, *do* update your eee BIOS to at least the recommended level. Download the update from the Asus website and copy it to a USB memory stick formatted as FAT (not FAT32). Boot your eee with the stick inserted and press Alt-F2 during boot up. It will search for and load the BIOS update. It's definitely worth all the expense and bother - my eee 901 is like a new machine. Much faster than the original 16Gb SSD, ample room for Windows and eeeBuntu in a dual-boot configuration. Love it!
