DETAILS

SSD (Solid State Disk) is the future storage option for laptop and desktop computers alike. SSD units have no moving parts and as such the consume much less power, hence improving the battery life of any laptop. They are also more reliable than standard HDDs and for added peace of mind they include an ECC Error-Correction feature.

The 8GB Transcend SATA SSD is based on SLC Flash which guarantees significantly faster read and write speeds. We recommend this type of SLC for SSDs intended for installation of operating systems.

Transcend’s 2.5-inch SATA SSD series has a distinct advantage over standard 2.5” HDDs in that they are made of solid-state memory with no moving parts, and therefore not susceptible to mechanical failure resulting from vibration, shock, heat, etc. Its modern SATA interface delivers higher data transfer rates than standard IDE and ensures compatibility with today’s high performance notebook and desktop computers.
