In RunCore's pursuit of the ultimate solid state drive (SSD) upgrade, a full new line of SSD products have been developed, boosting computer performance 5x to 40x. The RunCore Pro IV SSDs provide speed increases in startup, application launch, multitasking between programs, opening/rendering/saving large files, and shutdown. The RunCore PRO IV SSD also offers silent operation, longer battery life, heat reduction, reliability, and durability making it the perfect solution for all applications.

The revolutionary new SSD design not only boosts your sustained performance but it also focuses on random small file Read and Write speeds, the speeds that create bottle necks in current and past PATA, SATA HDDs, and some SSDs. With Operating system and application consisting of thousands of small files, the RunCore Pro IV SSD can process these files at nearly 10X write and 50X read while creating a more efficient and satisfying user experience.

The Pro IV 70mm miniPCIe SATA SSD has become an ideal choice for the storage media of the ultra mobile PC. With its small footprint and industry-standard design, the format of miniPCIe SSD is ideal for embedded solid state storage because it allows for high capacity and high performance while ensuring compatibility in ultra-mobile application.

The product is compliant with SATA protocol and as standard miniPCIe SSD installed all major OS such as Windows 9X/Me/NT/XP/CE/Vista/Windows7, MAC, Linux and Unix. The miniPCIe SSD adopts advanced flash controller and NAND flash, contains the cache size of up to 64MB. It supports the capacity from 32G to 128G, the highest read rate reaches 258MB/s.

Don't buy this item, it will fail quickly

I have bought this one for my Eee 901 and after the 8 month it has been broken completely. Memoryc.com has sent me a replacement (thanks for Kenneth Larkin for his quick answers and good attitude) but the replaced one's SMART is even worse than the first one.

So, I am totally disappointed with RunCore SSD and have asked memoryc.com to replace it with SuperTalent SSD (of course, I am going to pay a difference between price).

beware of using this product

I spent many hours trying to install Windows XP / Ubuntu on to this SSD. Apparently, some of these drives have a defect firmware which makes it very difficult to install any OS. I was only succesful with Fedora 15 and Fuduntu 14, Ubuntu 10.04 was possible making a first install on a SDHC of 16Gb and then cloning this to the runcore ssd. Sending a mail to runcore was useless to me, they don't reply... Another runcore user noted that finally he received a mail by runcore confirmiong a firmware issue.

Runcore:
* Faster than stock Asus-901 "fast" 16Go SSD (W051X)
* No freeze during SDD writes anymore
* Really easy installation (even screwdriver included!)

Perfect!!!

breathed new life into my computer

I've got an EEE 1000/Linux netbook that I hadn't been using cause of how slow it was. I knew the problem was the hard drive ssd and ,finally, googled around for a good one that would work with this laptop. I was on New Egg and a reviewer was complaining about an SSd he had bought and said he finally coughed up the dough for a runcore and he couldn't be happier. In my case, this SSD has turned a , practically unusable laptop into a very functional one. Scored 6.8 in Windows 7 performance test, not bad when everything else in this atom based laptop cscored three or less. I've got Alice the video game on there now for kicks and it plays thru quite well. I, only gave it a 4 cause the SATA SSD I bought for my gaming computer cost about the same but scored 7.7 on the performance test. Could be my crappy hardware was bottlenecking my SSD on my laptop

I ordered RunCore Pro IV 70mm PCI-e SATA II Solid State Drive SSD
64 GB.(Mfr. PN: RCP-IV-S7064-C).
According to RunCore site, I was promised and believed to get the following package contents:
• RunCore Pro IV 70mm PCI-e SATA II SSD
• High Speed USB 2.0 HDD case
• USB Cables
• Acronis Migrate Easy for PC and Carbon Copy Cloner for Mac
• Screw Driver
• Stickers
In reality I have got SSD, stickers and annoying screwdriver!
Where is the rest??? Especially USB adapter?

Regards,

Leonid Vinogradov

EeePC 1000/Linux - Comes to Life

After much research, I took the plunge and replaced my factory shipped ASUS PATA 32GB SSD with this RunCore Pro IV SATA-II SSD (yes, the SATA-II SSD is compatible with the EeePC 1000/Linux running BIOS 1003 - a little known/advertised fact). I dual boot Win7 and Eeebuntu 3, both showing excellent start/shutdown performance (Eeebuntu being the most impressive ~20 seconds from cold) and great application start-up times.

Running CrystalDiskMark 2.2, Win7 gave me the following stats (100MB Test File Size). The 4K file performance was 25-20 times faster than that of the replaced PATA SSD, generally 3-5 times elsewhere.

Seq Read: 124.4 MB/s; Seq Write: 89.28 MB/s
512K Read: 104.0 MB/s; Seq Write: 102.0 MB/s
4K Read: 14.58 MB/s; Seq Write: 8.699 MB/s

My research, findings and conclusion is available on the runcore support forum (link removed), in summary: this RunCore product ranger comes highly recommended, transforming my EeePC 1000/Linux experience.
