Cheap & Cheerful - But Not Too Speedy

Reasonable read performance, but stutters when writing despite full DMA support. Not too bad for the price, but a shame the performance doesnt compare to the SATA equivalents...

The little PATA SSD is up and running in my old Powerbook G4... And the old boy doesn't seen that old anymore.

Quiet, mixed performance

I bought this in the hope that it might add a bit of performance to an old laptop. Running XP, the startup time is improved and applications load quickly, but when writing there are terrible pauses so the overall user experience is actually worse than with the old rotating disk.
I could only recommend this in circumstances where a traditional rotating disk cannot be used, either when you need rugged storage, or when you need silence.

Definitely made my "obsolete" laptop faster than when it had a hard disk. Real read/write speeds can be found here:

The 16GB model has read / write speed of 88 and 35 MB/s respectively. For full speed write you need to spend more and get the 32GB model.
