Doesn't support consistent power over USB
August 3rd 2017
I got this to power a KVM device that has a Type-A USB connection from a Standard Type-A USB port on a PC. It did provide enough power for the device to turn on but it then rebooted repeatedly as the power provided couldn't keep up with the demand from the hardware. I had a USB 3.0 cable, which when tested using the same (Non-USB 3.0) output port on the PC powered the device without a problem.
If you are getting a USB cable for as a power source I'd suggest going for a USB 3.0 over this one. Otherwise it functioned as expected.
