This converter is fully plug and play compatible and works out of the box. I used it to connect my Dell multimedia keyboard to both a Win 8 PC and a Mac and iall buttons work without ant problems. This is in contrast to other ps2 adapters which allow you to connect ps2 components to USB ports but are NOT plug and play compatible and will not function with Win 7 or Win 8. Very good quality for such a reasonable price and arrived within two days of order placement.
