Ideal for use with today’s Ultrabooks and thin-and-light laptops, Transcend’s SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Hub transforms a single USB 3.0 port into four, instantly expanding the number of high-performance USB 3.0 devices you can connect to your computer at the same time. Why you may need a powered hub

If you have problems with USB ports this can be that some devices need quite a bit of current to operate and computer USB ports are usually limited to 1 amp at most or less in some cases.

This is when you need a powered hub which can supply more devices at the same time this can also speed up communications as well.

Mechanical external hard drives are particularly vulnerable to not working or working slow because of a lack of power.

I have bought one of these and it works very well

Nice product needs to be connected to a PC to charge iPad

Compact size. Excellent finish. Highly recommended. Unfortunately it will not recharge my iPad unless it is connected to a PC. Driver for "iPad charging" must be downloaded from Transcend website.

This is a very neat hub. I haven't used the charger yet, but all the ports work correctly and simultaneously and data transfers very quickly. The small footprint is great for keeping my desk tidy.
