Details
Superspeed USB3.0 portable hard drive from Silicon Power. Trust the Armor A80 to protect your valuable data; it is waterproof, drop resistant as approved by the US Military, and is built in an anti-pressure and anti-dust casing. Includes free security software and unique cable-carry compartment.

Water, pressure, vibration & dust proof
In compliance with IEC529 IPX7 waterproof test for one meter under water for 30 minutes, Armor A80 is still fully operation. It features dust, pressure-proof and ready for any unexpected situations such as rain, liquid-spillage or accidental drops.

Shockproof
In compliance with US MIL-STD-810F (transit drop test), it was tested for:

(1) Product dropped directly onto a concrete floor (or harder surface)
(2) On a drop-test machine, the product freefalls from a height of 122cm and from the freefall
(3) A total of 26 contact points (8 corners, 12 cut surfaces and 6 major surfaces) were tested

Ultra fast transfer speeds
Armor A80's outstanding read/write speed is coupled with the latest USB 3.0 interface and is backwards compatible with USB2.0. The USB 3.0 interface features a 5 Gbps/sec bandwidth which is 10x the bandwidth of a USB 2.0 interface. Bought a 1TB drive but 4 days and 300GB later I realised it's formatted as FAT32 out of the box. Now I have to transfer everything off it, format it and transfer everything back again. Raging it was FAT32 by default. Why not just leave it blank and let the user format it when they connect it. Dealing with errors and bad sectors already.

I ordered it and it cam within 3 days of purchase. it is really fast and i am saying this because i have usb 2.0 not usb 3.0 .
i really wanted an external drive which has waterproof and shockproof capabilities and i also wanted one of those drives that when it fell down from my hand or from the table , it would not break into pieces.
i have had it since 1 week and it is quite good. i watched several youtube videos where they torture the silicon power and it is still operational after test. search for 'silicon power a80 torture test' without the quotes.
you actually get 2 usb cables. the first one is a little bit too short\(suitable for a laptop) - the second one i used to connect it to my cpu.
i have not tried this on smartphones- i don't know if you can use the lighning to usb connector to transfer data from smartphones . i also haven't tried this on ios devices(iphone, ipod, ipad, etc...)
it also works with mac, i don't have a mac but it should work with it .

Product came on time and was well packaged and was in mint condition I did have a few issues such as it not showing up in windows but this is easily solved by using disk management feature in windows. I had this issue because I had formatted it instead of just deleting the warranty folder which I did remember to activate
