A good SSD for my Mac Pro - with reservations

After using this drive in my Mac Pro, I love it - with I two reservations.

The first is that it's (obviously) 120Gb and it can be hard to streamline your Mac's main disk to fit your stuff into this relatively pokey size. I would have got one with twice the capacity, but it was outside my budget. I've set up this drive as a dedicated developer partition, and it's really very fast and quiet.

The second issue is to do with mounting the SSD inside a Mac. The Mac Pro uses an ingenious design for mounting four hard drives, and the SSD - because it's 2.5" - won't fit. I made the mistake of ordering 2.5" to 3.5" adaptor rails which don't fit into the Mac's mounting system. In fact, MemoryC were unable to provide any mounting solution, and until the adaptor I've ordered from somewhere else arrives, I'm using sticky take and elastic bands. If you have a DVD bay free, this is an alternative to consider. Mounting in this bay would be easier.

All that said, having an SSD in your Mac is a joyous experience.
