This SATA III M.2 SSD is manufactured by Transcend, one of the world leaders in memory and storage products. The MTS420 M.2 NGFF SSD is suitable for many ultrabooks, tablets and other compact devices where space is at a premium.

And just because this is an ultra-compact SSD, it does not mean it does not perform just as well as larger SSDs - in fact, with the SATA III 6Gbps interface it can achieve read speeds up to 560MB/sec and write speeds up to 500MB/sec.

The MTS420 SSD is an 42mm form factor SSD, built using premium 3D TLC NAND chips for optimum performance and reliability. Added features include DevSleep mode, S.M.A.R.T., TRIM, NCQ, and Power Shield.

I was little worried that the product features from the manufacturer says HP EliteBook 850 G1 going to support 120GB M.2 (NGFF) SSD. After trying 240GB did not made me hopeless. This unit works really great. Highly recommend!!!

I have a HP ZBook Mobile Workstation 14" and after installing this SSD and and extra 8 GB of ram I have been experiencing intermittent stuttering in the normal functionality of the laptop. Sometimes a program or the mouse pointer will freeze for a second or two and then it will continue as normal. I don't know if it is because of the SSD, the memory or the computer but it is a little bit irritating. I did not notice any stuttering before I installed them and I do not have any interest to start troubleshooting, so I guess it's not that big of a deal.

Otherwise, the SSD itself functions as intended and it was very affordable.

After a lot of research, I purchased the 240 GB MTS420 SSD for my Laptop and the upgrade was great. I cloned the OS to the SSD and converted the old 1 tb HDD as data storage disk. My system boots very fast now and very happy with the new purchase.
